Solid Oak Antique Morris Chairs

We are so proud to offer this beautifully restored set of antique Morris Chairs, consisting of one standard chair and one matching rocker. These chairs are true antiques, dating back roughly 100 to 125 years. 

Because the original leather and straw-filled, spring-cushioned seats could not be saved, we custom-designed and built brand-new seats and backs out of solid oak to ensure they will last for another century.  These are classic Morris Chairs, which are widely considered the ancestors of the modern recliner. First marketed in the 1860s by the British firm Morris & Co., they feature a timeless, functional design with a hinged back that lets you set the reclining angle using a metal bar and rack system.  

We have finished these chairs for outdoor use, though they would look just as beautiful inside your home. The seats are a generous 20"x20". They feature the classic, lower-profile height typical of this era, so while they are perfectly comfortable as-is, you might choose to add a cushion depending on your personal preference.
